  • Tuesday, July 2 – Trash Pick Up
Meet at the Visitor Center at 8:00 a.m. Gloves, water and insect repellent are recommended. Trash bags, vests, and grabbers are provided.
  • Wednesday, July 3 – Guard Rail Grass & Brush
We’ll be clearing  grass and brush from the guard rails along the roads. We need people to weed eat and use hand loppers.  Don’t forget to bring gloves, water and insect repellent.  Meet at the connex in the maintenance yard at 7:00 a.m. Contact Helen if you need more explicit directions.
  • Saturday, July 6 – Invasive Removal
We are working on pulling up mullein plants before they go to seed. This is a huge project so we need lots of helpers.  Meet at the corrals at 8:00 a.m.  Bring work gloves, at least three bottles of water, snack and insect repellent. Long pants, long sleeves and a hat are recommended.  Allow four hours.  We need a head count  so let Helen know if you plan to attend. This project involves  bending and pulling and about a mile of walking over rough ground.
  • Saturday, July 6 – Trail Maintenance – The Narrows
Trail maintenance on the Narrows trail.  Meet at the Boulder cabin at 8:30 a.m. Bring work gloves, water and insect repellent. Allow three hours. Let Helen  know if you will be coming so that we have a head count.
  • Saturday, July 13 – Trail maintenance – Jed Johnson
Meet at the Jed Johnson dam at 8:30 a.m. Bring work gloves, water and insect repellent.  Allow three hours.  Let Helen know if you will be coming so that we have a head count.

Please note that if you were planning on helping Randy on July 2  the rocks  have already been moved so he no longer needs help.

For your calendar, we have tentatively scheduled a training day on Saturday, July 20 for Visitor Center volunteers, tour leaders and assists, bus drivers, and hike leaders.  This is intended as refresher training for those already doing those jobs but we would  also like anyone who is  interested in leaning more to attend.  Please let Helen know if you are interested so that she knows to share the confirmed date and details with you.

Thank you for volunteering and have a happy and safe Fourth of July.
