About the Friends of the Wichitas Association
The Friends of the Wichitas is a 501(c)3 organization established to support the Refuge and provide outreach opportunities to the visiting public. All donations are tax-deductible.
The Friends promote understanding and appreciation of the Refuge and assist the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in meeting its mandates.
The Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge itself consists of 59,020 acres of unique habitats in the ancient Wichita Mountains in southwestern Oklahoma. Located about 20 minutes northwest of Lawton, Oklahoma, attracts between 1.52 and 1.72 million visitors each year.

Become a Member!
Support FOW in providing outreach opportunities to Refuge visitors. We assist the Refuge and assist the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in meeting its conservation mandates.
Volunteer
Be a volunteer!
Several volunteer opportunities exist with the Friends including assistance with the Nature Store, marketing, advocacy, outreach, or work with one of the multiple committees chaired by the Friends Board of Directors.
