We’re working to save the 1927 Ferguson House listed on the National Register of Historic Places! Located next to the road on Hwy 49, a mile east of the Visitor Center, it was burned in a fire in 2010. The foundation and cobblestone walls remain.
Our efforts to raise $70,000 to restore the Ferguson House got a major boost this month. We received $5,000 checks from both Cindy Rowe Zelbst and Louise Rowe Green for a total of $10,000.
Louise is the granddaughter and Cindy the great-granddaughter of Idell Ferguson Rowe. Idell was a daughter to the Fergusons who built the house that we are raising funds to restore. We are told that both Cindy and Louise have fond memories of the Ferguson House.
With this donation we are now only $18,000 away from our goal. If you have already made a donation to our fund drive then “Thank You”. If you have not, please consider sending in a check to help our cause and put us over the top!!
