Wildlife Tours June 10, 17, and 24, 2017

Reservations beginning June 5, 2017 at 580-429-2197.

A perfect opportunity to view wildlife on a bus tour of Pinchot Loop in the Special Use Area. A unique feature of this season is the young buffalo and longhorn calves.

*Tours except the June 17th tour will be in the afternoon, departing from the Visitor Center promptly at 5:30 p.m. The June 17th tour will be a morning event, departing at 6:30 a.m.

Reservations for the programs are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis by telephoning the Refuge at (580) 429-2197, beginning on the reservation date indicated above, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Tour participants will meet at the Refuge Visitor Center located at the intersection of Highways 49 and 115. Visitors may obtain a Refuge leaflet and map from one of the dispensers located at each of the five entrances.

All tours except as noted above, will be in the afternoon departing from the Visitor Center promptly at 5:30 p.m. The morning tour will depart at 6:30 am. All tours will last approximately three hours. Due to the length of the program, children must be at least eight (8) years of age to participate.

Interested persons are advised that the Refuge’s public interpretive program is intended for individuals and family units. Only one family’s reservation will be accepted per telephone call. We regret we cannot offer group tours but invite all interested individuals to call for reservations which are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations must be made by telephoning the Refuge Visitor Center on the following line only: (580) 429-2197, beginning on the reservation date between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Reservations will be retained until ten minutes prior to departure on each date. After that time, stand-bys will be accepted. If the bus seating capacity is filled after accepting stand-bys, late arrivals with reservations will not be able to participate.
